BIRDWATCHING

We are in privileged territory for birdwatching, both migratory and native. The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve is a hotspot of biodiversity and home to 250 different bird species. Must-see spots are the Arteaga wetlands and Busturia observation points, as well as the Urdaibai Bird Center. We can arrange for a wildlife guide should you wish to book one.

MASSAGE IN THE FOREST

Nature surrounds us here at the hotel, but with this unique wellness experience we take you deep into it. A private massage in the forest surrounded by oak and fir trees, set to the song of the birds and the flow of the river... a real pleasure for the senses.

Visit to Ceramic Studio

Visit the ceramic workshop where the Hotel Nafarrola’s unique tableware is made. Not normally open to the public, our wonderful potter, Vicente, will give you an introduction to pottery and you will have the chance to buy your own pieces to take home. Advance booking required.

INTRODUCTION TO PELOTA VASCA

“Pelota Vasca” is a traditional Basque sport involving a ball and hand, racket, or basket. Now played internationally, the game remains an integral part of Basque culture, with most villages no matter how small having their own courts. This private experience will give you an introduction to the sport, a professional demonstration, and a chance to have a go yourself, followed by a traditional Basque aperitif.
